Thank you for registering for a certification class with American Pool of Southern New Jersey. Below you will find details for your class and important policy information:

Day 1 - May 16: 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Day 2 - May 17: 10:00 am - 8:00 pm
Day 3 - May 18: 10:00 am - 8:00 pm
Attendance onALL days is required to be eligible for your certification.
Please remember to bring the following to class:
- Bathing Suit
- 2 Towels
- Warm Clothing/Change of Clothes
- Food/Snacks/Drinks
- Paper/Pen for Notes
Additional clothes for warmth and light snacks to have throughout the day are recommended
Important: Be sure both items are complete before coming to your in-person lifeguard class:
1. All 19 Online Learning Modules (Pectora via www.app.pectora.com) - if you need help accessing these, please send us an email at rmsstaffing@americanpool.com. You may be asked to reschedule your class if you do not start the online work at least 3 days before the first day of your in-person training.
2. ILTP Final Written Exam on Pectora (Pectora via www.app.pectora.com, use the same login as you did to complete your online modules). This will be added to your Pectora account as a "Class" after finishing your modules although please contact your local staffing representative if you do not see it at least 24 hours before your first day of in person training!
Training Prerequisites
Before beginning in-person training sessions, you should be able to meet the following prerequisites:
- Must be 15 years or older on or before the final scheduled session.
- Swim 100 yards. Candidates may swim using the front crawl, breaststroke, or a combination of both. Backstroke and sidestroke are not allowed. Swim googles may be used.
- Tread water for one minute using only the legs.
- Exit the pool without using a ladder.
- Brick Retrieval: Feet-First surface dive to retrieve a 10-pound brick from the deepest depth of the training facility.
Company Policy Information:
Attendance Policy - Prompt arrival from all participants is needed to successfully run the lifeguard class. Anyone who is more than 15 minutes late after the scheduled start time of the course may be asked to reschedule at the Instructor’s discretion. The student must be present for the entire duration of the class.
Online Work - All online work, which includes the Modules and Final Exam, must be completed before the start date of your class. For renewal certifications only the online modules are not mandatory to complete to attend the certification class, but it is highly recommended.
Outdoor Classes - Classes located at outdoor facilities, are subject to cancellation at any time due to inclement weather. In this instance, the Staffing Department will reach out to let you know of other certification class options.

An international renowned, hands-on lifeguard course that is highly interactive and physically enduring. The course is a comprehensive training program that promotes objective driven and performance based training for individuals wishing to obtain a new ILTP™ certification for shallow water, pool, special facilities, and/or open water, in various water depths ranging from less than 5` feet of water up to any depth and/or open water. Our International Lifeguard Training Programs (ILTP™) are designed and intended to be delivered as part of an integrated curriculum that includes water rescue techniques, First Aid, Health Care Provider CPR, Emergency Oxygen Support, and Automated External Defibrillation as a first responder. This course requires students to perform each concept taught in the course, through student demonstrations of all skills concepts and skills instructed. Students will participate in lifeguarding roles throughout the class and are expected to perform lifeguard duties as first responders. Students will perform on deck and in water simulations, drills and exercises for rescue techniques as an individual and in team scenarios as part of multiple rescuers drills. The ILTP Lifeguard course materials are available in English, Spanish, Portuguese, Thai and simplified Chinese languages. Students that successfully complete the ILTP Lifeguard course obtain an ILTP certificate that is valid for one (1) year. Annual renewal is required. Successful candidates can earn anywhere from 2.2 to 2.6 IACET CEUs depending on the level of certification achieved in the program.
