Course Cancellation Policies
Low Enrollment
For any scheduled course (Prerequisite, Lifeguard New/Renewal, and Pool Operator) to run there must be a minimum of 6 participants attending. Therefore, American Pool reserves the right to cancel any course that does not meet the minimum requirement. In the event a class is cancelled due to low enrollment, any student in that course will be able to transfer to the next available course free of additional charge.
Weather Cancellation
If a class is cancelled due to weather conditions any student in an affected course will be able to transfer to the next available course from additional charges.
Participant Cancellation
If a student cancels 2 weeks or more before the start day of the course the student will receive a full refund MINUS a $25.00 processing fee. If a student cancels less than 2 weeks before the start day of the course a refund will not be given, but you can apply your payment toward a future course with a $35.00 transfer fee. If a student “No-Shows” to a course, a refund will not be given. Please review our No-Show Policy below for more details. Calling or emailing the facility (where the course is being held) to cancel is not the proper procedure to cancel and will not be honored for a refund to be issued. In order to cancel enrollment in a course please email aprecruit@americanpool.com. You will need to provide your name, reliable phone number, course information and home address. Refunds, minus the $25.00 processing fee will either be credited to the original payment method, or (if the original payment were in cash) a check will be sent to your home address approximately 3-4 weeks after the cancellation was initiated.
Rescheduling A Course
If a student wishes to reschedule their course they must notify American Pool 72 hours prior to the start of the course. A transfer fee of $35.00 is due immediately to be rescheduled for another course. If you are rescheduling due to an emergency you will need to contact American Pool before the start time and day of the course. Please be prepared to send a doctor’s note, family obituary or any other appropriate documentation to reschedule without a transfer fee. These will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis. Please contact aprecruit@americanpool.com to initiate rescheduling a course.
Attendance Policies For Courses
Any student registered for a course must arrive on time and be present for the entire duration of the course. If a student arrives more than 15 minutes after the scheduled start time of the course they may be denied entry to the course. If a student arrives more than 15 minutes late to a course and is denied entry they must pay a processing fee of $35.00 to be rescheduled into another course.
Failing Any Portion of a Course
If a student fails any skill requirement of the class, one free retake of the entire class will be offered for a future course at no charge. Only one additional attempt will be provided. Failing to show (a NO SHOW) does not qualify.
No Show Policy
If a student “No-Shows” to a course, NO refund will be given. If a student shows up more than an hour late to a course, it is also considered a No Show. The student must pay for another course in full; American Pool will not transfer the prior course payment to another course if a student No Shows. No exceptions will be made on this policy.
Registration and Payment for American Pool Courses is considered acknowledgment and agreement to the above mentioned policies and procedures. Any questions should be directed to aprecruit@americanpool.com.
